Restrictive practices

A particular and ongoing source of concern for QAI is Queensland’s restrictive practices legislation. QAI believes the legislation is flawed and promotes a compliance model directed at managing restrictive practices, rather than a prevention model aimed at avoiding their use. The restrictive practices legislation is contained in the Guardianship and Administration Act 2000, and  the Disability Services Act 2006. See below for links to ongoing work.
